1972 Martini Formula 3

( At this point of time, February 2008, the Martini is getting a complete overhaul. The chassis has been crack tested as is the suspension. The body and roll bar are in the process of being altered, so the car can run again with the engine cover on it. We are also replicating a Antar-Filipinetti nose piece that Coulon used on the fast tracks.

The antuicipation is that the Martini will be race ready again for the Vintage Classic at Blackhawk farms in June 2008)

As from the 2007 season Historic Race Car will also put their 1972 Martini Formula 3 up for rent for vintage events!  This may be the best opportunity you can get to see if open wheel racing is for you.

The car is very easy to drive and is comfortable for tall drivers. Get the feel of a custom build race car. The responses of the drivers input are phenomenal. The braking of a 950 pound car on slick is unbelievable and thrilling.

See if open wheel racing is something for you without buying a car.

We offer the same service as with the Alpine. Gasoline, tires and track service are included in the rental fee of  $3,500 per three day event.

Alpine Berlinette Tour de France A110

As from the 2006 season, HRC is offering you the chance to rent our Alpine Berlinette Tour de France A110, as the A110 is officially called. The car is available at all VSCDA events. For other race events, please contact us and we will try to work with you.

You will experience a well prepared and reliable race car with all the period correct upgrades such as big brakes and trailing arms on the lower front suspension. This Alpine is so well setup that it even likes to go in a straight line, an otherwise well known shortcoming of Berlinette's the period drivers were always complaining about.

The "everything at the rear" configuration makes for a spectacular driving experience, only suitable for drivers that are not afraid of oversteer. The cars handling is very predictable and it has a very nice pretty flat power and torque band, making it a driver friendly car.

The Alpine is a very small and intimate car that will accommodate drivers up to 6 feet max. There is a passenger's seat which will give you the opportunity to take your family and friends out during touring.

Price for a three day weekend, including transport of the car to and from the track, gasoline, track service and tires is $3,250. You have to bring your own race suit, helmet etc. and are responsible that you are eligible to race at the event. HRC will take care of clearing the tech inspection for the car.

Entree fees, hotel accommodation are the driver's responsibility, as are all damage to the car due to accidents and driver mistakes.

During the Kohler International Challenge at Road America Harry Lipetz from Vancouver,Canada, rented and raced the Alpine in Group 1. The following is a quote from an E-mail he sent me the day after the races:

"It was a pleasure meeting both of you and I really enjoyed the short time I spent with you. The car was a lot of fun and I appreciated the efforts you made looking after it and bringing it to the grid etc. It was a 'little different' than the Lola but still loads of fun. I hope I can do it again some time and if you need me as a reference in the future for the Alpine and your services please feel free to use my name"
